VocaLink announces appointment of Richard Hooper CBE as independent member to Board of Directors

11 April 2008 – VocaLink, the specialist provider of transaction services, today announced the appointment of Richard Hooper CBE to its board as senior independent director effective 1 May 2008.  This announcement comes after news of VocaLink’s funding initiative to select a new investor to help drive the business forward.  This appointment underscores VocaLink’s commitment to strengthen its Board with broad business experience and deep industry expertise.

Mr Hooper brings with him over 30 years’ experience in the media and telecommunications industry. He holds a variety of positions at board level most notably with Yell Group plc; and recently stood down from the Board of Informa plc after ten years where he was instrumental in developing and growing the businesses.  Mr Hooper was also the founding Deputy Chairman of Ofcom, the independent regulator and competition authority for the UK communications industries and a former Chairman of the Radio Authority.
