    Switching and Settlement service

VocaLink operates the busiest ATM switch in the world, annually switching around 3 billion shared ATM transactions on behalf of the 49 members of the VocaLink ATM network.

VocaLink's real time central switch operation - with secure telecommunications connectivity to Member host systems and gateway services to the VISA and MasterCard networks - is supported by an overnight settlement process and provision of full management information.

Connectivity is also extended to overseas card schemes. VocaLink ATM services are already accessible to US-based Pulse cardholders with further overseas schemes in the course of reciprocal negotiations.

VocaLink's drive to improve network efficiency for its owners and the VocaLink network members ensures that switch availability has been 100% for the last three years.
