Enhanced Transmission Service (ETS)
ETS is a strategic connectivity channel for banks, large organisations and government departments. Designed to carry any type of data payload swiftly, securely and in large volumes, ETS anticipates the changing needs of the payments industry.
Data transmitted over ETS is wrapped in a standardised XML envelope. Whatever service the data is destined for, and whatever the format of the data in the envelope, ETS handles the data in a uniform manner. This means that if new services or payment formats are introduced, ETS will accommodate the changes easily. ETS harnesses the Public Key Infrastructure framework we operate for the other processing services we support in the UK.
ETS can be used to transmit and collect data to the processing services we provide for Bacs Ltd. It can also convey batch files of standing orders to our Immediate Payments platform for the Faster Payments service.
Key Features:
- SOAP-based XML packaging – standardised wrappers for data make it easy to integrate
- SMIME protocol for data interpretation and routing – straightforward, commonly used protocols for easy adoption
- 128bit SSL/TLS encryption – for network security
- Open standards technology – used to make it easily understood and cost effective to integrate
Complementary interface software
We also provide interface software designed to make ETS easy to deploy. ETS Gateway software allows organisations to integrate ETS with existing systems quickly and easily.
