SWIFTNet Transmission Service (STS)

Banks in 200 countries around the world use SWIFT connectivity for high value payment and data transfers. We developed STS to harness the popular SWIFTNet connectivity solution. recognising that banks can gain scale economies by rationalising the number of connectivity channels and interfaces they support,

SWIFTNet Transmission Service (STS) uses SWIFT’s strategic messaging solution, SWIFTNet FileAct and SWIFT’s FIN product. STS is an input/output connectivity channel for banks and large businesses.

STS can be used to access Bacs processing services and to make bulk input of standing orders to the UK faster payments service. Key Features:

• Compression at down to 10% - using common compression algorithms
• Network optimisation -  uses an optimal configuration of the SWIFT network to provide maximum throughput for customers
• Non-repudiation – uses VocaLink’s non-repudiation capability to provide full end-to-end non-repudiation and to achieve data integrity
• SWIFTNet encryption – employs the SWIFTNet standard security framework
• Open standards technology – used to make it easily understood and cost effective to integrate

STS also has FileAct capability for TARGET2. Banks joining our Euro Clearing and Settlement sevices can use SWIFTNET connectivity to submit their data to us.
