How it works
The Faster Payments service enables bank customers to initiate a payment that is actioned immediately, with funds clearing their account within seconds of the payment instruction being issued. It is designed to work well with telephone and internet banking and allows bank customers to pay into UK bank accounts held with participating Faster Payments banks by quoting an account number and sort code.
