Best Practice in Business Continuity
Developing Business Continuity Best Practice in the UK Payments
Industry
On 10 November 2010, VocaLink hosted an interactive forum for
customer banks, regulators and software partners to share a common
understanding of business continuity best practice. The forum
sparked new thinking on best practice in business continuity in the
UK payments sector as well as giving participants the chance to
learn from leading edge thinking in the energy industry.
The core of the forum was the opportunity afforded to participants
to explore and propose industry best practice in areas such as
service continuity, crisis management and business continuity
governance. As well as sharing their thinking in facilitated
discussion, participants also received a feedback report that
reflected the shared thinking on the day with additional
reflections to help them in their efforts in business
continuity.
The value to VocaLink was equally high. In addition to sharing and
learning business continuity best practice, the forum offered a way
to engage directly with customers and partners to increase
understanding, develop relationships and enhance customer and
partner perceptions of VocaLink. In fact, VocaLink's Net Promoter
Score (a way of measuring positive customer perceptions of an
organisation) among participants rose 46% directly as a result of
the event.
In fact, the success of this event - for customers, for partners,
for the payments industry and for VocaLink - has already led to
customers proposing similar events at other industry
gatherings.
VocaLink will continue to facilitate and drive these and other
opportunities to engage across the Payments industry to improve
best practice, facilitate common understanding and enhance
relationships with partners and customers.
