Workplace
Nurture, engage and motivate
We are within the top 2% of all organisations accredited to
Investors in People, having achieved Silver status on how we
motivate, manage and develop our staff.
At the heart of VocaLink's culture is the belief that people are
the organisation's greatest asset. Recruiting, retaining and
developing the best people is a business priority for us, making
CSR a critical factor in the success of the VocaLink business.
As an equal opportunities employer we're committed to providing
a safe and supportive working environment for all our staff. We
undertake to train and develop our people to help them realise
their potential. We encourage colleagues to get involved in their
local communities and take time off for volunteer work. We see it
as a positive that the people who work here gain a more rounded
experience.
VocaLink take proactive steps to promote employee wellness and
engagement by providing a safe and pleasant working environment.
Staff are encouraged to attend wellbeing workshops and participate
in sporting clubs. VocaLink also have an on-site gym at one of our
key sites. Free health screening, flexible working hours, coaching
and mentoring programmes are just an example of our commitment to
the wellbeing of our staff.
Staff can introduce family and friends to the business via our
two-week work experience programme.
Building on our community interests, many colleagues elect to
work with young people. Mentoring is a popular option and we're
developing strong connections with local schools. In recognition of
VocaLink's continued support of Young Enterprise, in June 2011 an
award was received for "outstanding support for enterprise
education in schools."
VocaLink has been taking part in Investors in People (IiP) for
10 yrs and have just been reaccredited at Silver level which puts
us in the top two percent of IiP participants. VocaLink's IiP
assessor commented: "It is clear that at a strategic level the
organisation understands and attends to the critical business of
turning learning and improvement into new behaviours." (Gary Inman,
IBP, June 2010)
