Pennies from Heaven
VocaLink is a contributor of the Pennies from Heaven Scheme,
which is a concept of direct payroll giving. It involves asking
VocaLink employees to pledge pennies from their salary to staff
nominated charity Marie
Curie Cancer Care. VocaLink match 100% of all staff funds
raised.
What is 'Pennies from Heaven'?
- Pennies from Heaven (PFH), which began in 1999, is the UK's
fastest growing coin collection scheme for employees and
pensioners
- With a simple change to our payroll system, gross salaries are
rounded down to the nearest pound on a monthly basis and the
pennies donated to charity. The most anyone can give a month is
£0.99 or £11.88 pa (£15.20 with Gift Aid) with an average of £6.00
(£7.68 with Gift Aid)100% of all donations received by the charity
(depending on agreed terms of license) and the scheme is designed
to compliment amounts given via pre-tax payroll giving
- Pennies from Heaven's goal is to get everyone in the UK
donating their spare pennies to charity - this would be worth over
£230 million pounds a year - see the pennies really do add up!
