    London, 5 August 2010: The VocaLink Take Home Pay Index has edged up again in July by 0.2 percentage points to reach 0.8 per cent, but is falling well short of inflation rates. According to the consumer price index, the annual rate of inflation reached 3.2 per cent in June which is four times higher than the growth in take home pay. This continued gap between take home pay and inflation is eroding real disposable income as the cost of essential spending increases at a greater pace than growth in pay.

    London, 30 July 2010: VocaLink, the international specialist payments partner, has announced it is providing Metro Bank, the first new full service high street bank to enter the UK market in over one hundred years, with a one stop shop solution for all its payment needs. Metro Bank has outsourced the management of its ATM estate, domestic and international payments and debit card processing to VocaLink. Metro Bank opened its first branch on 29 July 2010 in London.

    London, 7 July 2010: The VocaLink Take Home Pay Index for June witnessed a marginal increase, edging up by 0.1 percentage points from its lowest level ever recorded in May, to reach 0.6 per cent annual growth. Services sector pay growth followed this modest increase, creeping up by 0.1 percentage points to reach 0.4 per cent, while the manufacturing sub-index paints the most positive picture, reaching its highest level since July last year. These modest increases point to a longer term trend of weak take home pay growth over the past twelve months which is unlikely to be reversed in the short term.
